Where can you find real Wholesalers,
Manufacturers, and DropShippers?

When people start out searching for a wholesaler they go to the place where you normally look for things online - search engines. The bad news here is that you will not find any real wholesalers on search engines. Sure what you will find are "suppliers or middlemen" not "wholesalers". Suppliers / Middlemen are a whole different market to wholesalers, they may call themselves "wholesalers" but you can be sure that you won't be getting anywhere near the price you could expect to achieve from a genuine wholesaler!

Good Wholesalers and Great Deals are out there, and the good news is that you can find them with a little work. This part of the process of building your business intelligence can really pay dividends and going the extra mile will make all of the difference to how much profit ends up in your pocket.

Build up a database of Manufacturers and Real Wholesalers products you could start by:

Don't ask retailers where they get products, they won't tell you! Do your research and build up your own picture to lead you to your key business information.

I would recommend focussing on one particular industry to give you the best possible chance to make a name for yourself, and so build your contacts list. Ensure that you have your own website as many manufacturers and wholesalers will require it. You want to give the impression of a serious and professional business and a website is in effect your "storefront". You don't have to spend a lot of money having a website built and it can be done relatively cheaply. Take a look at my resource list at the end of the book for website build ideas.

There is no magic formula; the simple answer to finding out everything you want to know is quite simply making contact with wholesalers. Sounds simple? It is - call them!

Most people want to forget about it whenever I mention calling wholesalers on the phone. It's too much trouble; I don't have time, what I will say...You get the message The great news is that this is the answer most people give and exactly why they don't have a six figure income running on autopilot! If you want to have a really successful business then you need to pick up the phone and start talking. You could say a friend recommended them and suggested you give them a call, whatever you like, the main point is to get them talking and build a networking partner. I guarantee that once you start you'll wonder why you were hesitant in the first place.

Building a relationship and networking with wholesalers will get you into the inner circle and lead you towards the manufacturers. Only then will you have the real power to really exploit your businesses potential.

As you build your business acumen and networking circle your options for sourcing will also grow. This will lead to better prices and more choices. So can you see how important it really is to pick up the telephone and start calling?

I've said before you are going to have to do a little bit of digging here, but the rewards will be well worth your time and effort.

How to Spot Fake Wholesale Suppliers

We've talked before about the whole industry built by scammers to cheat you out of your money, so let's take a look at how they work so you can spot them next time.

These fake suppliers usually start by offering fake prices to attract you to them, for example I saw an advertisement for an iPod Nano 4GB for $100 and when I asked where I could get it, no surprise I didn't get an answer! These types of advertisement are known as "teasers" and simply designed to get you to visit them.

Try this out for yourself. Visit www.google.com and enter the search term "wholesaler" and look at the results. You should see a whole range of Wholesaler Lists, Wholesaler Secrets and bargain prices. Ask yourself if it was this easy to source good quality wholesalers; don't you think everyone would be doing it? Scammers offer to sell you "top quality wholesaler lists", but if the lists are so good why would they sell it to you? The answer is quite simply that they make money from selling the lists, not with the list!

You'll often find them through a multitude of web site addresses they've built for themselves, for example: find a wholesaler.com, top quality bargains.com - you get the message!

What they actually do is charge you an inflated "wholesale price" and just send your orders to the real wholesaler who fulfils the order. The fake wholesaler then pockets most of the profit for themselves.

These guys will usually charge you a "setup fee" to cover their processing or admin cost, the real wholesaler will very rarely do this.

So you get all of this shiny information for your new website, post the graphics and wait for the orders to roll-in. Guess what nobody's buying, because if you buy your goods from a fake wholesaler you will be paying too much and passing that on to your customers.

These fake wholesalers know exactly what they are doing, and may even have hooked you into a contract with them. You've probably realised by now that you've fallen for one of the most infamous internet scams - fakes and scammers who pretend to be something they are not.

Remember there are all of these eager would-be internet entrepreneurs out there just waiting to be taken for a ride. These guys are just sitting there waiting to take your money.

Beware of the following "wholesalers":

  • Any wholesaler who offers to set up your website or run your auctions for you. What they are doing is offering you their own back-end products to make them rich, not YOU!
  • Any wholesaler who wants you to pay a setup or admin fee
  • If a wholesaler just sounds too good to be true, then he probably is!

Spot a Real Wholesaler

A real wholesaler usually falls in line with the rest of their industry and have common trading practices. Ask your wholesaler the following key questions:

  • Are they an authorized factory distributor
  • Do they store those products in their own warehouse or facility
  • Do they buy in large bulk loads from the manufacturer
  • Do they ship those products direct to their own customers

If you can't verify that the wholesaler you are dealing with ticks all of the above key criteria, then ask yourself very seriously - Who are you dealing with? Remember a fake could answer yes to all of the above, so do your homework and research to check out their business.

Recognizing the Scammers

Imagine you had an electronic device you could plug into any website to tell if it was a scam! How much would that be worth?

Most people have good instincts when it comes to dealing with people face-to-face, but it is much harder to spot the scammer online. I'm going to give you a few hints and tips to get your scam spotter radar up and running!

Ebay is a great place for these scammers, they naturally home into the world wide market offered and sell every fake list they can produce to dupe the gullible.

I would state categorically that it is extremely unlikely that any wholesaler listing you buy from an eBay listing will be genuine. So don't waste your money and concentrate on the great resources that you'll find in this book. Why? Because I have bought most of them and they are completely useless, scammers just looking to take your money. If you want to give your money away then sure, buy some and see, but I can tell you right now that they are just a way of parting you from your cash and frustrating you in the process.

So how can you spot the scammers?

They use...

  • Unbelievable guarantees
  • Fantastic Offers
  • Added Bonuses and Free Gifts worth $$$$$
  • Claims about how much money they or you will make
  • Websites designed as "Sales Letters"
  • Claims of top eBay expertise

Research The Wholesaler

Look at their websites, read them - what do they have to say? If you are reading a whole load of hype then beware. Real Wholesalers don't have to do the"sales thing" on you.

Do searches under their company name - what are other people saying about them?

Make sure that any recommendations or organizations flouted as legitimacy are genuine themselves!

Make sure that the website has full contact information. Don't leave it until you've got a problem - try the phone number right away

Ensure that the wholesaler is running a business under a legitimate business name. If it is a personal name then I would strongly consider adding this person to the "fake wholesaler" list!

Sourcing your products is a critical part of the success of your future business, but the next section on marketing is probably even more important. You may have the best product range out there, but if no-one can find you then you won't be doing a lot of business!

We'll examine the marketing elements of your business in more detail the next section of my report.

In the next section we'll discuss...

  • The single best place to source your products
  • The best kept eBay secrets which allows you to earn money without shipping (much like drop shipping), but you get most of the sale! This is a must read.
